Cohesion Phenomics was founded in 2013 with a clear focus: provide high-quality diagnostic genetic testing for inherited cardiovascular conditions.
Over the years, our work gave us a close view of everything surrounding the test itself—the records gathering, insurance requirements, prior authorizations, patient coordination, provider communication, result interpretation, and follow-up needed to move a patient successfully from suspicion to answer.
We saw that the challenge was often not simply obtaining a genetic test. The challenge was navigating everything around it.
More Than a Laboratory Problem
Providers and genetic counselors were often spending valuable time tracking documentation, communicating with insurance companies, following up on authorizations, coordinating testing, and trying to make sense of complicated results.
Patients could be delayed while clinics worked through administrative requirements that had little to do with direct care.
